Ribble Valley is noted for many things: unspoilt countryside, award-winning food and drink, excellent schools, but it also looks set to find itself in the frame for art. A flurry of first-rate private art galleries have opened in the area in recent years and there have been some outstanding public art projects, such as the Clitheroe Castle Labyrinth and Ribble Valley Scuplture Trail. At 300 square miles, most of which is in the Forest of Bowland Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, Ribble Valley has two market towns, Clitheroe and Longridge, and 44 villages set in a peaceful and unspoilt landscape offering panoramic views and plenty of inspiration for art enthusiasts.
