As part of the Bowland Cycling Festival, Bike bites is a collection of free short talks about bikes and cycling. Each cyclist has their own unique story to tell that celebrates their love of cycling and what it means to them. 14:00 – Nicholas Dinsdale ‘Racing on Chemo’
Nick Dinsdale has been involved in bike racing for most of his life, competing iconic events such as 12hr time trial, the 3 peaks cyclocross and more recently competing internationally in duathlon. This talk is about Nick’s experience of racing to beat his toughest competitor to date: Cancer.
14:30 – Ian Forsyth ‘4x Racing’
Ian is a local lad from Whalley who lives and breathes mountain biking. When he’s not riding, he’s digging dirt jumps and building trails. This year, Ian has stepped up his racing to take part in UCI pro tour events, including reaching the finals at Fort William this May!
15:00 – Charles Jepson ‘The Clarion Cycling Club’
Charles, a life long cyclist and president of the Clarion Cycling Club has a wealth of knowledge about cycling. His talk today is about The Clarion Cycling Club, which originally formed in 1894.
15:30 – Richard Dugdale ‘International Cycle Touring’
Richard Dugdale is an international cycle tour organiser and member of Clitheroe Bike Club. As well as touring in the Lakes and Dales, his adventures have taken him to some amazing destinations including, Japan, Tasmania, Yellowstone and Cambodia.
