SUMMARY:Finds Day with the Portable Antiquities Scheme at Clitheroe Castle
 Museum
DESCRIPTION:Did you know that thousands of archaeological objects are disco

omething that might be archaeological? Whether you’re a metal detectoris
t\, fieldwalker\, mudlark\, or simply someone digging in the garden—why
not bring it along to the Finds Liaison Officers from Portable Antiquities
Lancashire and Cumbria to discover more. Our brilliant Finds Liaison Offi
cers can help identify and record your discoveries.\n\nThe British Museum
’s Portable Antiquities Scheme records archaeological objects found by t
he public to help “advance knowledge of the history and archaeology of E
ngland and Wales.”\n\nBooking isn't required but we recommend booking ah
ead of time on the Finds Liaison Officers' Eventbrite page.\n\nYou can ex
plore finds recorded in Lancashire here: https://finds.org.uk/counties/la
ncashire/artefacts-and-coins/\n\nCan’t make it this time? Don’t worry
—the Finds Liaison Officers will be returning throughout the year. Keep
an eye on our events pages for future dates and times.\n\nClitheroe Castle
Museum is managed by Lancashire County Council's Museum Service on behalf
  of Ribble Valley Borough Council.
