Oktoberfest is the world’s largest Volksfest, (that’s a beer festival and travelling fun fair to you and I) held annually in Munich, Germany, it is a 16-18 day folk festival running from mid or late September to the first weekend in October, with more than six million people from around the world attending the event every year. Oktoberfest is an important part of bavarian culture, having been held since 1810. Visitors are invited to drink beer by the lire, eat traditional Bavarian food; such as pretzels, wurstl (sausages) and sauerkraut and listen to live bands playing traditional Bavarian music.
