The Stonebridge String Quartet is a fine chamber quartet from the Northwest: cellist Bob Buller even coming from Clitheroe. It may seem a hard task to fit in between the international recording stars of this year’s concert programme but leader Roland Fudge led an acclaimed quartet, the Sartori, until it dissolved. All of his present group are graduates of the Royal Academy, the Royal Northern School of Music or the Royal College of Music and fit in very well with this season’s remarkable line-up.
They will be playing Haydn’s String quartet Op.76, No. 4; Tchaikovsky: String Quartet No1, Opus 11 and Shostakovitch: String Quartet No. 8, Op.110 .
