The Saetr Garden Cottage shares a large garden with the original Lancashire longhouse, The Old Farmhouse. Enjoy the stunning garden, watch trout jumping in the lake and the view of Grindleton and Harrop Fells beyond.
‘Saetr’ is derived from a Nordic word for a ‘summer barn in the hills’ – where the young girls would go to sleep in the summer and care for the sheep and young cattle in uplands. Often followed by their boyfriends in hot pursuit with romance in mind!
