Thwaites
With over 200 years of brewing heritage, Thwaites Brewery is now based in Mellor Brook after moving from the centre of Blackburn. The purpose-built establishment has the capacity to brew 1.5 m pints a year, and it is also home to the stables of the famous Thwaites horses. Thwaites beers are available locally.

Butlers
Established in 1932, multi award winning Butler’s Farmhouse Cheeses are a true family business based in rural Lancashire, famed for pioneering the popular Blacksticks Blue cheese. Cheesemaker Tim Fisher says, “The cheese we produce combines the best of our heritage and fabulous local milk. Cheeses are individually handmade, cloth bound and carefully matured.”
Georgonzola
Georgonzola is the latest addition to Clitheroe’s thriving food and drink scene. Bringing specialist produce from around Britain, the delicatessen provides something new to the town. For lovers of wonderful food, great customer service and something a little different.


Proctors
The Procter family first made cheese in the picturesque village of Chipping in the 1930s. The day-to-day running of the company is now in the capable hands of Tim Procter, who is the fourth generation “Tim” in the family. He is ably assisted by his family and dedicated staff , who have a real ʻhands-on’ attitude to business—an attitude which is reflected in their dedication.

Singletons & Co’s Cheese has been handcraft ing beautiful cheeses since 1934 and is still using traditional techniques and recipes to this day. As for the company’s history, they come from a long line of dairy farmers who have been nurturing and investing in the farming community since 1745. Nowadays, they export to over thirty countries around the globe and are proud two-time holders of the Queen’s Award for Export.


Sheep Milk Company
Set on Laund Farm in the rolling hills of the Forest of Bowland, there couldn’t
be a more stunning backdrop for this budding enterprise. Their unique selling
point is dairy produce made uniquely from sheep’s milk, which is easy to
digest and packed with nutrients. Over the past twenty years and beyond,
the Stott family has been busy perfecting a sheep-milking practice originally
dating back one thousand years. The result is an award-winning variety of
sheep milk products, from milk and cheese, to curd and yoghurt.

Beltin Good Beef
Situated in the Forest of Bowland, Croasdale House Farm contains pedigree Galloway cows and Swaledale and Lleyn sheep. As well as supplying some of the top local restaurants with prime cuts of beef, the farm also offers them for sale.


Cowmans Butchers (The Famous Sausage Shop)
Situated on the main street of Clitheroe this shop has been a butchers for over 120 years and the Cowman family have owned and operated it for over 50. Supplying all the quality meat you would expect from a country butchers including their famous British Sausages.

Bashall Spirits
Bashall Spirits is a family-run spirits company, bringing to life flavours from the past through long-cherished family recipe books from our home in the idyllic village of Bashall Eaves in the Forest of Bowland.
The idea for Bashall Spirits was born when owners Fiona and Hamish realised their love of gin was the perfect route to bringing recipes from 18th century family recipe books to a wider audience.
Bashall Spirits Damson and Elderberry Gin has been announced as winner of The Gin Guide ‘Flavoured Category’ for 2021. Bashall Spirits’ entire flavour range (Orange & Quince, Parkin Cake, Damson & Elderberry) also received silver medals in the 2021 London Spirits Competition, joining the London Dry which had gained silver the year before.

D Byrne’s Wine Merchants. Beyond the impressive first room is a series of small catacombs of wine cellars containing thousands of bottles from all over the world. Expert, unpretentious, and a treasure trove of red, white and fizz oozing with tradition and spirit.
Pendle Witch Distillery LTD
Overlooked by Pendle Hill, we are an artisan distillery producing small batch, single malt whiskys; a smoky Islay-style and a smooth Speyside-style.
We also produce a Bourbon-style liquor made with 50% corn, and small-barrel Moonshine Straight whisky.
With history and a connection to the surrounding area, and our story of provenance, we aim to put the Ribble Valley on the whisky map!
Now that the distillery is fully functional we have opened a shop stocking some of our amazing products. We are open for people to pop in and sample products before making a purchase and taking them home.


Ribble Valley Gin
The Ribble Valley Gin Co, founded by young couple Justine & Luke, produce small batch artisan gin in their distillery based in Longridge.
The distillery is a stone outhouse, built in 1888 and was originally used as a “piggery”, and with it having so much history and standing for over 130 years, they have kept most of the original features. They use an 83-litre column still for their gin and vapour infuse our botanicals for a smooth finish to their gin and botanicals to reflect the natural beauty of the Ribble Valley.

Visitors to The Whalley Wine Shop will experience a friendly and welcoming atmosphere from passionate and enthusiastic staff and much choice in wines, champagnes, spirits, craft beers and much more.

Coffee

Exchange coffee
Exchange Coffee are traditional coffee roasters & tea merchants. Located on Wellgate in the centre of Clitheroe you can smell the wonderful aroma of roasting coffee even before reaching the shop. Once inside you can watch the coffee being roasted and there is a choice of over 35 freshly roasted coffees from around the world. And there is also a selection of over sixty-five different loose teas & tisanes. Wander through the shop to the William Morris inspired Victorian coffee house spread over three floors and enjoy a full Lancashire breakfast through to an afternoon tea with a brew of your choice.
