Brilliant to hear that Le Tour de France is coming to Ribble Valley in summer 2027.

The Tour de France takes centre stage in the Ribble Valley for Stage 2 of the 2027 Grand Depart, turning this gorgeous slice of Lancashire into the centre of the cycling world on Saturday, July 3, 2027. Rolling in from the north, the peloton tackles the famous, moody hills of the Forest of Bowland before dropping into the valley to face two brutal climbs: the Côte de Trough of Bowland and the Côte de Waddington Fell.

The riders cruise through picture-postcard spots like Newton-in-Bowland, Dunsop Bridge, and historic Clitheroe, dealing with narrow lanes, steep hills, and wild elevation changes that seriously test their legs while giving fans some incredible views.

Heading south past Whalley and Blackburn, the route serves up epic landmarks and gorgeous backdrops, meaning anyone lining the streets, whether they’re in the middle of Clitheroe or perched in a quiet village, gets a front-row seat to world-class athletes battling sharp turns and steep climbs.
